Update

It's been a while since we last updated! Nathan has now finished in Dallas, so no more flights! He turned in his final paper last Friday and his grades come in today! Erin has the month off, and has spent her time interviewing in Dallas, Mobile, Oklahoma City, Austin, Little Rock and tomorrow leaves for St. Louis. There may be one or two more in January, but for now that's enough! This past weekend was our friends Andy and Shelly's wedding (the picture is from the rehearsal dinner). Nathan was the best man and Erin was a bridesmaid. It was a beautiful ceremony and a great party afterwards! They left this morning for Belize...lucky!
This week Erin will be in St. Louis with her mom interviewing at St. Louis University and Nathan will be working and watching all the dogs (we're keeping Andy and Shelly's dogs while they are gone). This weekend we'll be celebrating our first Anniversary! We can't believe it's already been a year!

School Days School Days Dear Old Golden Rule Days...

This is our miniature schnauzer Mercedes. She is posing for the camera as our patriotic puppy.

On our first day of school when were little (or not so little) my mother would sing "school days, school days, dear old golden rule days.." School is back in full swing. I have completed both of my board exams for this year-so far good results! Now I am back on rotations at the University and the VA.

I just completed a month of critical care at the Veterans Hospital intensive care unit (VA MICU-doctors don't use words only letters). This was a great experience with the really sick folks; however, I am not sad to say that this was my last rotation at the VA. I am now rotating through gynecology this month. I will spend some time in clinic as well as some time in the OR. Hopefully, I will get a lot of hands on experience without terrible hours! For those of you who don't know, I am working towards a residency in Ob/Gyn. Can you believe I will graduate in May?

Nathan has started classes at SMU in Dallas. Yes, I know this sounds confusing. He has 6 more hours this semester to complete his Master's of Divinity. He is flying to Dallas on Tuesdays and returning on Thursday. He will be finished by December!
Have a wonderful short week!

Rum Punch and Pina Coladas

Wouldn't it be nice? This is a picture of the Jamaican beach we sat on for the entire week of our Christmas honeymoon. I would give anything to be there right now! I take the Step 2 of my National Boards on Friday. I have been busy studying for my exam. Nathan has been working at the Bike shop, watching the tour, and playing a little golf when he gets a chance. Mercedes, our Schnauzer, is trying to beat the heat. Wish me luck...

Saturday Bike Ride

This morning Nathan and I rode 21 miles with a group from Lewis and Clark. I have not ridden for a while, and Nathan tuned my bike up at the shop. I even have new pedals and special locking shoes. Only two hang-ups on the ride: a flooded trail and a fall into some bushes. Otherwise the Little Rock river trails are great!
